Product Manager, DRIWEFA, Inc., Washington, DC:  Introduced and instituted a formal product management practice at DRIWEFA.  Generated new product concepts and product enhancement ideas through market research.  Wrote product plans for executives and market requirement documents for developers.  Devised marketing communication strategies to announce products’ release or enhancement and to stimulate leads.  Co-created a web site strategy for a consulting practice and documented the development requirements and flow for it.  Formulated positioning statements for use in collateral creation; wrote white papers to answer methodological questions.  June 2000 – August 2001.

 

Director—Product Management, Claritas Inc., Arlington, VA:  Developed requirements for product releases and builds.  Managed development efforts to ensure releases occur on time and within budget.  Devised product pricing.  Developed and led sales training.  Drafted product collateral and marketing materials. Conducted and commissioned primary research for product development and enhancement ideas, including win/loss analyses, product prototype evaluations, and marketplace needs assessments.  Monitored competitors’ products and industry trends.  Negotiated relationships with third-party data and software providers.  Represented Claritas as a speaker at conferences and trade shows.  May 1998 – June 2000. 

 

Manager—Marketing Database, Bell Atlantic General Business Services,Arlington, VA:  Provided marketing support by overseeing the development of applications for mining a database of over 2.1 million customers.  Developed marketing/sales tools and applications which contributed to the attainment of over $50 million annually in stimulated revenues.  Compiled, interpreted, and delivered requirements for system development to the company’s IS organization and external vendors.  Coordinated expense and capital budgets for systems issues related to marketing.  November 1996 – April 1998.

 

Manager—Demographics/Secondary Research, Bell Atlantic Business Research, Arlington, VA:  Supported decision makers in varying departments throughout the company in the research, analysis, and compilation of demographic data.  Created prospecting databases for unregulated subsidiaries.  Employed segmentation schemes to calculate acceptance of new services.  Managed a staff of two clerks and three professionals responsible for conducting secondary research covering competitive and marketing issues for clients from multiple Bell Atlantic business units.  February 1996 – November 1996.

 

Analyst—Demographic Studies, Bell Atlantic Business Research, Arlington, VA:  Provided demographic data and analysis to marketers and planners from multiple departments.  Utilized on-line data retrieval services, including Internet searches, to compile information on residential and commercial markets.  Created specialized bimonthly market assessment reports for the Consumer and Directory lines of business.  Supervised two clerks.  February 1992 – January 1996.

 

Policy Writer, Bell Atlantic International, Inc., Arlington, VA:  Compiled, revised, and edited policies and procedures manuals.  Created and edited a newsletter for Bell Atlantic International, Inc.’s Human Resources department.  Wrote speeches and letters for director-level and above employees.  October 1990 – February 1992.
